UCAELI StaffThe UCAELI staff welcomes you to this website. We do our best to serve you, our current and future students. Mailing Address General inquiries can be made to: register-ucaeli@uconn.edu Kristi Newgarden, Director email: kristi.newgarden@uconn.edu Kristi has been the Director of UCAELI since 1999. She is responsible for all aspects of program management and development. Kristi holds a Masters degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and has taught extensively in intensive English programs overseas and in the U.S. As Director, Kristi makes an effort to have regular contact with UCAELI students. She assists students applying to the University of Connecticut with applications, meeting faculty, and creating transitional study programs. She also teaches part-time in the Intensive English Program.
Neena Kapoor, Program Coordinator email: neena.kapoor@uconn.edu Neena joined UCAELI in 2005. She assists with admissions, student services, and Conversation Partner Program coordination. UCAELI InstructorsAll current UCAELI instructors in the Intensive English Program hold Masters degrees in either Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or in English. Instructors' overseas teaching experience includes these countries: China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Chile. All UCAELI instructors share a love of teaching, the English language, and working with international students.
