Everything about students
Activities & Trips
All UCAELI students are invited to enjoy several trips and activities during their program. Check out our YouTube channel and our Flickr page for videos and pics! Official UCAELI trips and activities vary by semester and by program. Check out our programs for more information.
UCAELI students are also welcome to join many university-wide campus activities as well. Check out the UConn Event Calender.
Housing
Both on- and off-campus housing options are available. All arrangements for on-campus housing are coordinated by our office.
On-Campus Housing
Students may choose to live on campus in a dormitory. While students may request a specific room type, room type requests are not guaranteed. Students may be placed in a single, double or triple room. In dormitories without kitchens, students will be required to purchase a full meal plan at an additional cost.
Off-Campus Housing
Off-Campus Apartment / Room Rentals
For information on apartments and rentals off campus please visit UCONN's Off-Campus Housing.
Homestay
Homestay is limited and may not be available. Please contact Lena Dillman at lena.dillman@uconn.edu for more information.
Dining
Meal Plan
All students housed on campus in undergraduate residences must purchase a meal plan. Those staying in other housing complexes may also buy a meal plan if they so desire. See Dates & Costs for more information about the different meal plan options.
Health Insurance
For protection against the high costs of health care in the United States, UCONN requires each student to have health insurance. All full-time UCAELI students are required to purchase UConn insurance, provided through AETNA. Information on this plan can be found at: http://www.shs.uconn.edu/insurance.html In addition to a health insurance plan, full-time UCAELI students are eligible for medical services at the University's student health center. The center is open 24 hours a day throughout the week for routine medical care, illness and health counseling.
